Grand Opening – Sherry’s Dance Academy

On Friday, August 17th Sherry’s Dance Academy held their official Grand Opening at their new location in Brownstown Township.  Sherry Blaha, owner/director has located her second Dance Academy at 23752 West Road (at Telegraph Road).  She has another studio in Carelton.

Sherry Blaha said, “The other businesses surrounding our dance academy have been so welcoming to all of us here.  We are all so excited to be in this new location in Brownstown Township.”

The Grand Opening was attended by local Brownstown officials, including Trustee Clyde Walters, Director of Public Safety, James Sclater and Deputy Supervisor Greg Maher.  Also attending the Grand Opening were Sherry’s Dance Academy instructors and their family members. Sherry’s daughter, Brandy traveled from New York to be with her mother at the Grand Opening.

The Brownstown Township Dog Park will have its Grand Opening on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 12noon. The Dog Park is located next to the Brownstown Animal Shelter at 23700 Lillian Road in Brownstown. Preceding the Grand Opening ceremony will be the Brownstown Animal Shelter’s Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic & Pet License Renewal from 9:30am to 12noon.

“The Dog Park grew out of requests from many Township residents looking for a place to exercise and socialize their dogs. A bonus is that the visitors will also find camaraderie with other dog owners,” said Andy Linko, Brownstown Township Supervisor. “The Dog Park is an integral part of the Brownstown Township Recreation Campus.”

After the Grand Opening event on Saturday, April 28th, the dog park will be open – all are welcome to visit. Starting on April 30th, you must register with the Township to receive your pass to enter the Dog Park.

Registration will take place at the Brownstown Township Hall at the Water Department starting on April 30th. The Township Hall is located at 21313 Telegraph Road. You must complete a Dog Park Application including a copy of each dog’s current Rabies Vaccine Certificate and proof of Bordetella and DHLP-P (distemper parvo) vaccines.

An annual pass is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents. A pass includes up to three dogs and is renewable on an annual basis. Replacement cost is $25.
