See Spot Run…and run and run and run!

The Brownstown Township Dog Park will have its Grand Opening on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 12noon. The Dog Park is located next to the Brownstown Animal Shelter at 23700 Lillian Road in Brownstown. Preceding the Grand Opening ceremony will be the Brownstown Animal Shelter’s Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic & Pet License Renewal from 9:30am to 12noon.

“The Dog Park grew out of requests from many Township residents looking for a place to exercise and socialize their dogs. A bonus is that the visitors will also find camaraderie with other dog owners,” said Andy Linko, Brownstown Township Supervisor. “The Dog Park is an integral part of the Brownstown Township Recreation Campus.”

After the Grand Opening event on Saturday, April 28th, the dog park will be open – all are welcome to visit. Starting on April 30th, you must register with the Township to receive your pass to enter the Dog Park.

Registration will take place at the Brownstown Township Hall at the Water Department starting on April 30th. The Township Hall is located at 21313 Telegraph Road. You must complete a Dog Park Application including a copy of each dog’s current Rabies Vaccine Certificate and proof of Bordetella and DHLP-P (distemper parvo) vaccines.

An annual pass is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents. A pass includes up to three dogs and is renewable on an annual basis. Replacement cost is $25.
